Getting started with healthy eating can be a daunting task! It took me years of research, reading books, taking classes, and asking questions to wade through information and misinformation about the right foods to eat and those to avoid.
I’m still learning! There are so many voices saying eat this, don’t eat that, add this superfood, don’t eat grain, and on and on. It can be so overwhelming!
When we owned a restaurant, I taught a class to which I had the attendees bring 5 items from their pantry. We put all of the items on some shelves and started reading labels and discussing what was in our sample pantry. People had little clue as to what they were actually eating and feeding their families! The students went home with a shopping guide to keep them on the journey.
